CRUSADERS HISTORICAL REENACTING

Over a long weekend in the winter of 2015, a group of people who their main passion is around the crusaders historical period in Israel, gathered near the village of Mevo Khoron. The group set a camp in the forest area, equipped with authentic clothing, wooden utensils and other artifacts which they believe were common in the crusaders period. Each person had a role and was dressed accordingly, with clothes and shoes that were specifically tailored to the occasion. It is forbidden to use any artifact which contains materials like plastic or rubber or which may not existed in the crusaders period. The group consisted of warriors, guards, cooks and even women and children. In the morning the group re-enacted the Crusaders' journey from the Ayalon Valley to Jerusalem - an eighteen kilometers march.
